Old Appliance Running Up Your Bill? You May Get a Free Replacement.
Through the Appliance Management Program (AMP), qualifying households can have a broken or inefficient appliance replaced at no cost.
What AMP Can Replace

Refrigerator

Freezer

Clothes Washer

Window A/C

Dehumidifier
Replacement depends on an assessment of your current appliance. Not every appliance will qualify.
Three Ways In
You receive fuel assistance
If you're approved for fuel assistance (HEAP), you're eligible.
You have a discount electric rate
If you're on a National Grid or Eversource discount rate, you're eligible.
Your income fits the guidelines
Households that meet the Mass Save income-eligible limits can qualify, even without fuel assistance.
AMP serves 1-4 unit homes. If you live in a building with 5 or more units, your landlord or condo association can request the multifamily program at LEANMultiFamily.org. If you rent, your landlord may need to approve the visit.
How It Works
1
Qualify.
Apply for fuel assistance or contact your local agency. In Pembroke and Plymouth County, that's South Shore Community Action Council at 508-746-6707.
2
Get your assessment.
Your agency schedules a no-cost energy assessment of your home. The specialist checks your appliances and looks for other ways to save.
3
Get your replacement.
If your appliance qualifies, a new energy-efficient one is delivered to your home.
One Visit Can Open Bigger Savings
The same assessment that finds an appliance to replace can also point to insulation, air sealing, and heating upgrades. That's where First Light comes in. We chart the path from your assessment to a finished project and handle the paperwork, so you never have to touch a form.

First Light Energy Consultants
AMP is delivered through local community action agencies in partnership with Massachusetts utilities. Eligibility, covered appliances, and replacement criteria are set by program administrators and can change. First Light is not the AMP provider. Not all households will qualify. Program eligibility, incentives, and equipment funding are determined by seasonal program rules and household qualifications. Available appliance replacements are verified each season. First Light manages the coordination with your home energy assessment.
